tomorrow night, i'm going to see CANDLEBOX in concert. yes, f'n candlebox. who knew they still existed, right? i mean, as far as i knew, they were a two-hit wonder, with "you" and "far behind". "far behind" is such a classic to me. and they were big when...1993-4. when i think of "far behind" and candlebox, i think of freshman year of college. you could ALWAYS hear that song blasting in the dorms.

i'm also going to see Placebo next month. i've never seen them before, and quite honestly, i only know a handful of songs by them. i'll have to get eric to make me a primer cd of choice cuts for me. i have to say, one of my fave songs by them, oddly, is a cover they do of "johnny and mary" by robert palmer. i just love that song (the original), and the cover kicks ass. i used to listen to that religiously when i would drive to work last winter -- you know, down rt. 23, when i'd hit up the LastChanceMobilMart. ah, i kinda miss those days.
and then in december, i'm going to see Panic! At The Disco and Jack's Mannequin. lovelovelove. i'm so excited for this show. the lead singer of Panic! has such a lovely voice. and their songs are so unique. and JM is such a great band - i mean, what else can you expect from the lead singer of Something Corporate, right?
if you can get your hands on the DEMO version of "nails for breakfast and tacks for snacks" by Panic!, get it. it's obviously not as polished as the CD version, but i love it so much more. the melody of the verses is different, and the whole synth breakdown is different, and i'm just ADDICTED to it.
