you can take the girl out of jersey, but you can't take the jersey out of the girl

aren't there more important things to worry about than STAMPS??

2004-12-07 The current mood of meredithelaine at www.imood.com

in the cosmic scheme of things, does it really matter if the christmas cards to clients have regular postage on them or a holiday stamp on them?

i didn't think so either.

so i posted all the cards. all 300+ of them. and today my coworker says "oh, we're getting holiday stamps for that."

meanwhile, it's been all "rush rush rush! we have to get the cards and gifts out before wednesday!" have we even received our holiday stamps yet?

no.

so much for putting a rush on things, i suppose. i can't rush things when part of the items i'm supposed to rush aren't HERE, people!

not that i knew the stamps were coming, of course. if i had known, i would have waited for the stamps, duh.

so here i am thinking that i'm being all productive and proactive, since yesterday i was alone from 3-6pm and had a whole lotta not much to do.

apparently to ms. nick-picky-anal-retentive coworker, i committed a cardinal sin: thou shalt not use everyday postage on holiday cards!

it's one thing if you're sending cards to family and friends. it's a cute touch. like when people put those love-heart stamps on their wedding invitations. it makes sense.

but to put cute postage on cards to clients/potential clients at hot-shot law firms and corporations, most of whom will never SEE the cards (leaving them to be opened, viewed, displayed and discarded by their beloved slave admin), just seems completely ludicrous to me.

(ludicrous, as opposed to ludacris, don'cha know. i do enjoy the verbal stylings of ludacris, i must say...)
