black friday advice! SOS!

happy thanksgiving, everyone. i hope you all know how unbelievably thankful i am for you guys. so many of you have become my dearest friends, my family...i really don't know what i'd do without you. i love you all so much. i just want you to know.

ok guys, i know some of you are REALLY smart when it comes to computers so i need your help.

i'm going black friday shopping tomorrow and there are some pretty sweet sales on some laptops. BUT i want to make sure it's worth it. so if anyone could tell me what is a decent about of megabyte-age and GBs and whatever else good stuff i should have on a laptop, that'd be fabulous.

basically, i'm never going to use it for work. just for listening to music, writing, LJing, interneting, you get the idea.

i've been digging around on the desktop i currently use and i THINK it's a 60GB hard drive with 256 of RAM. does that sound like it makes sense? so if that's not full yet, i should be more than okay if i got a lap top that's 60 GB with 512 MB of RAM?

HELP?

this makes all the difference between whether i go to kohl's first tomorrow or circuit city.
