grammy review part 1

2005-02-15 The current mood of meredithelaine at www.imood.com

let's talk the grammys, shall we?

i missed about the first 15 minutes of it, because i was picking up some wendy's (#6, biggie size, with a diet coke, if you must know)

this was probably the most entertaining grammys i've watched in several years. when it was good, it was VERY VERY good. when it was bad, it was entertaining, in an atrocious kind of way.

grammys 2005: the good, the bad, and unimpressive.

let's start with JLo and Marc Anthony, shall we? the most overhyped performance EVER. and honestly, not very impressive. the fact that Jennifer's side of the doors didn't open on time was pretty damn funny. so was her outfit. a flowy, light blue monstrosity. the whole performance seemed a bit contrived and insincere.

marc: J, honey, my career is lagging, whatever shall i do?

jennifer: marc, why don't we sing together at the grammys! being on stage with me will renew interest in your career, and your voice will cover up the fact that i can't sing! plus - i'll wear a sheer backless dress! it'll be GREAT!

um. yeah. nothing could cover up those 2 notes from hell that Jenny warbled. and they were both within about 15 seconds of each other. one horrifically off-key low note, and then a cracking high note.

note to JLo: you have no range, honey. stick to the 5 keys you can sing.

moving on...Loretta Lynn won for the album she did with Jack White (of the white stripes). she brought him up on stage and basically told him to say something to the nice people in the audience. Loretta was wearing this lavender prom-esque type dress. and Jack was all meek and quiet.

verdict: they are SO fucking.

it's no secret that Jack admires Loretta and considers her to be the best singer of the 20th century.

Jack just looked so in awe and enamoured by her. he's totally whipped. and you know Loretta's got that same dress at home, except in black pleather. she's totally a dominatrix. and Jack's lovin' every minute of it.

ok. i'm disturbed too; let's move on.
