job or no job?

wish me luck. today is the last day of my 3 week temp assignment. i've been loving this job. HR/Recruitment Assistant (that's Recruitment DIVA to you!) -- i'd really love it if they kept me around. i know my supervisor has been really happy with the job i'm doing, and he'd love to keep me for a while. it just depends on HIS supervisor and the VP of HR, and whether the budget will allow it, etc.

so keep your fingers crossed for me, okay? i would LOVE to eventually stay with this company forever and ever. because i get along with everyone i've met SO well. from the receptionist, to everyone in HR, to the randoms that i take my smoke breaks with!

slowly but surely, i'm continuing to feel better, health-wise. i'm still not getting a lot of sleep. i figure it has to do with the amount of meds i've got flowing through me. from my regular head-meds, to the allergy pills, to the antibiotics, to the nasal spray, to the inhaler, my body is probably like, WTF?????

eric, his roommate laura and i went to see "superman returns" last night. i'm outnumbered -- i HATED it. surprisingly, i liked the guy who played superman, i thought he did a really good job. i was against the idea of a new superman at first - christopher reeve is just iconic to me.

it should be said that i've never SEEN a superman movie before. nope. but i'm also not a movie person in general, so i'm probably not the best judge. i'm going to wait a while before i go into all my issues with the movie, since it just came out. i don't want to be a spoiler for all those who are planning to see it.

isn't that nice of me? heh.

i had a brilliant idea yesterday. i doubt it's anything terribly original, but still, it's something i'd like to do eventually. perhaps. maybe. over the past 3 weeks, i've plowed through resumes and spend hours on the phone, talking to candidates. i think it's helping me get over my "phone-phobia"! *gasp*

now, as you all know, i also like to go out. i like to go to bars, clubs, etc. i like to get crunk. heh. don't get it twisted, i was saying crunk back in 2000/2001. my girl L and i were saying how we were "crunk with a capital C!" of course, i am also known for saying in college, "i am as sober as a CAT!" um, yeah.

anyway. there are temp agencies for everything. administrative assistants, physical labor, accountants, lawyers, waiters...

how about a temp agency for bartenders?

if there's one thing san diego has a lot of, it's bars, clubs, and restaurants. of every genre imaginable. if someone calls out, the manager has to scramble to find someone to cover. or, what if a location is having a special event and needs extra staff, but staff that KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING?

that's where the bartender temp agency comes in. a mexican cantina that needs a bilingual cocktail waitress? no problem, let me just look that criteria up in the database. a club that's having a goth theme night? sure, no big deal. a new up and coming gay bar that needs a drag queen that can make a mean daquiri? you got it!

and so on.

it would be run just like any other type of agency -- applicants submit their resumes, they get phone screened, they come in for interviews, we find out what they're looking for, what shifts they'd take, where they'd work, etc. we'd do background checks, reference checks, make sure they're good at what they do, etc.

if it was done right, i think it could do really well.

and i've got 2 potential names. heh.

'tenders on tap

or

temps on tap

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

gotta run to work. wish me luck everyone.
