you can take the girl out of jersey, but you can't take the jersey out of the girl

same survey, different year!

2004-12-17 The current mood of meredithelaine at www.imood.com

this survey has been heisted from everyone on d-land and el-jay. all the cool kids are filling this survey out.

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
lived on my own, w/o a roommate.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i did at first -- i lost 10 lbs between january and april, but have gained that back, plus about 5 pounds. so of course, the "lose weight and attempt the impossible task of becoming a size 4" resolution will be in full-effect in the oh-five.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
my friend meg from college. my best friend from high school, becca, is due to pop in january, as is my coworker. i officially feel old now.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
not terribly close - but my friend's grandfather died.

5. What countries did you visit?
puerto rico!!!!!

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
money, of course. but that's the generic answer. my "real" answer is stability. take that however you want to.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
july 31st, because it was my most kick-ass birthday ever. it was also my most hung-over birthday ever, but we'll just ignore that fact for now. and march 20, because that's the first time that dave came to see me.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
getting a picture with howie day? heh. that's definitely up there. perhaps if i had gotten on the tourbus, i'd have a different answer. (kidding!)

9. What was your biggest failure?
gaining weight, among other things. it's hard to pinpoint just one.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
other than the usual bronchitis and upper respiratory infections, i got some sort of stomach virus at one point. can't forget the mysterious bumps/welts i got all over my body in puerto rico. and then, most recently, i fell while getting up from a chair, to go make dinner, and ended up spraining my ankle. yes, i am GRACE PERSONIFIED!

11. What was the best thing you bought?
my new cell phone is pretty nifty. other than that, probably all the concert tickets i bought.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
mine, at times.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
can i abstain from this question?

14. Where did most of your money go?
rent, concert tickets, and gas.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
meeting howie (both times!), going to see taking back sunday (3 times!), hanging out with L and B again, and...well, i still get really excited when dave comes to see me, or i go out to see him.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
"hey ya!" - outkast (because...it's HEY YA!)
"my immortal" - evanescence (in a way, this song saved my life)
"a decade under the influence" - taking back sunday (reminds me of the TBS shows. and i listen to it when i'm either really happy, or really pissed off and want to kick someone's ass)
"brace yourself" - howie day (duh)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
happier, i think.
b) thinner or fatter?
slightly fatter.
c) richer or poorer?
poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
save money, party, gone to more shows

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
crying, obsessing, and eating

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
well, this weekend is "christmas" with dave. actually christmas weekend will be i n NJ, with the fam. hopefully i'll have an opportunity to cause some trouble that weekend too. (call me!!!)

21. Did you fall in love in 2004?
fall is an understatement. crash-dove? flung myself headfirst?

22. How many one-night stands?
NONE! a vaaaaaaast improvement from the past 2 years. (no lectures, please)

23. What was your favorite TV program?
well, considering i don't watch too much tv...basically any show on vh1. and the real world, and rw/rr challenge, simply because the running commentary that nicole and i have is CLASSIC.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
not anyone that i know personally...

25. What was the best book you read?
i haven't read anything NEW this year, just re-read some stuff that i already had read. currently, i'm reading "the bell jar"

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
well, i re-discovered jimmy eat world, and i'm obsessing on them.
nickel creek - saw them when they opened for howie, and my GOD, they are amazing.
a second chance - their ep got much rotation this year
there's been a lot...too hard to think of them all!

27. What did you want and get?
a picture with howie day

28. What did you want and not get?
madd sexxx with howie day (hahaha). eh, there's a lot of things that i want, and don't get. most aren't worth mentioning, or i won't because...well, i jinx things when i mention them, so it's best to keep my mouth shut, so as not to screw myself in the future.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
"the cooler" and "saved"

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
i turned the big 2-9! dave and i went to L & B's for a BBQ (D and M were also there), and then we went to jenks and got our party on. and then i got very, very sick.

31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
if i had sung more.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
well, i'm still poor, so i'm not buying much. so i'm still all about jeans, hoodies, turtleneck sweaters, denim skirts. i bought one of those jelly bags, but i never use it anymore. i also bought ugg boots, which i LOVE.

33. What kept you sane?
200 mgs of Lamictal and 300 mgs of Wellbutrin. heh.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
come on, everyone, say it along with me:
"HOWIE DAY AND ADAM LAZARRA!"

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
the election, surprisingly, considering i'm not political at all.

36. Who did you miss?
dave. *sniffle*

37. Who was the best new person you met?
i don't know if dave counts, because i kinda-sorta knew him already. mccauley - he's a trip. and of course flex, pogo and jaden. honorable mention goes to: "Kato", Francisco, and "BoHope" (only L will understand those last 3)

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
have some fun! some rules are meant to be broken!

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"brace yourself with all that you have" - howie day
"i've got a bad feeling about this" - taking back sunday
