there is a strange atmosphere when you wake up in the middle of the night, after having dozed off several hours earlier. the lights are still on and the music is still playing -- sad and slow. everything feels heavy, groggy and eerie. and somehow, it's almost sexy, in an alternate-universe sort of way. you feel as if you are outside of yourself (this may be a product of having just woken up). in your state of semi-consciousness, perhaps you realize that you want to fuck. badly. maybe you are feeling aggressive. or, perhaps you want to just wrap your arms around someone. or be wrapped up IN someone. feel the warmth of human contact -- of love. all you know is that here you are, in this physically real "dream-world" RIGHT HERE IN YOUR ROOM, that is so infinitely beautiful and strange and sensual and odd and out-of-sorts...
...and tonight, you are alone. with no one to share it with. and that breaks your heart more than almost anything else could.
